Heavy clotty menses: Normal menstrual periods do not contain large clots. Clotting is a function of rapid arteriole and not venous blood loss consistent with hemorrhage. You need to contact and see a GYN MD ASAP to avoid anemia and determine the cause of the hemorrhage.
