Huh?: Pleurisy is a clinical diagnosis -- it isn't diagnosed by stethoscope, crackles or none. If the examiner hears a friction rub, maybe -- but bacterial pleurisy without some other findings is very uncommon and ampicillin is inappropriate for any other suspected etiology. If this is pleurodynia or post-zoster neuralgia, it's pain management until it resolves in its own. Best wishes.
