Tiredness : May be caused by a variety of things- may be a medical disorder eh thyroid or could be a sleep disorder or alternatively a mental health disorder may be affecting your sleep. Seeing your gp to assess and sort through these possibilities will be helpful in working out the exact causes. All the best

No simple answer: Sleep disturbance is very common and also quite complex in the range of things that can contribute. Ensuring adequate exercise, avoiding caffeine/screen time close to bedtime, developing a routine, paying attention to noise and light in your room etc can help. This is called sleep hygiene. http://www.healthinfo.org.nz/patientinfo/Sleep%20hygiene%20ppig.pdf

Causes/treatments: Common causes of worsened insomnia include changes in routine, changes in medications, and increased stress or anxiety. It is best to have a set routine and give yourself time to wind down before bedtime. Avoid stimulating things around when you sleep, such as a TV in your bedroom. Yoga, meditation, or listening to favorite music, looking at photos of happy memories, are good wind-down.
