Can you take claritin with paxil?

Should be ok if...: If a person had no problems taking paroxetine (Paxil) in the past for some medical condition, and separately had no problem taking loratadine (Claritin) or Clarinex in the past, then she should be ok taking the medications at the same time. If worried, she can ask her doctor who prescribed the Paxil.

Possible conflict: Loratidine has an antihistamine effect but it is not highly selective. It has also an antiserotininic effect. Paxil is trying to enhance the serotonin effect ( blocks the reuptake for metabolism making its "disappearance as late as possible"). So there is a conflict of the two. The Paxil might not act with the same antidepressive power
