I was curious. how common is it for laryngopharyngeal reflux to turn into throat cancer? and how long does it usually take to happen if it does turn into cancer?

No impact: Acid reflux has minimal effect in causing Cancer...that too only in the lower Esophagus area, not in the throat area.
