Swollen digits: If you can pinpoint the swelling and pain to the joints of your fingers, you are dealing with a type of arthritis. Lip swelling is suspicious of angioedema which is an allergic reaction to something internal or external. A physician will examine you and determine whether a referral to a rheumatologist or allergist is indicated.
