Trauma or Infection?: Swelling and or bleeding from your toe means that you have something serious going on in that toe. Unless you injured yourself, the cause could be serious infection or on rare occasions it can be due to cancer(if you have had the swelling for more than one month). You should go see a doctor who can examine your toe and make a diagnosis and then prescribe treatment for your problem.
