You don't have to : have history of allergies to develop an allergic disease. This morning congestion can be a symptom of allergy or rather chronic inflammation of your upper airways, whether due to allergies or not. The environment plays a role, like whether you have pets, feather pillows, carpets,you smoke or around smokers, etc..Saline nasal washes used often would help for now till you see an ENT or an allergist
