Bacterial vaginosis?: Strong vaginal odor after sex usually is from bacterial vaginosis, which is an overgrowth of mostly normal vaginal bacteria. It might just be a coincidence you're noticing it with your current boyfriend; BV is associated with sex, but not necessarily an STD. However, other STDs (gonorrhea, chlamydia, etc) are more common in women with BV. See a doctor for STD testing and probable BV treatment
