Cough tic : One possibility, suggested by your statement that it irritates your family, is a cough tic. If you have had a sore throat in the past few months and you now have this tic you may be having a reaction to antibodies formed from a strep infection . Ask your doctor to consider PANDAS.

Mgt.: I would suggest seeing your PCP since cough may be caused by a number of conditions. I would suggest an evaluation for chronic cough if it persists for more than 3 to 4 weeks.
