Needs checking: Theres not enough information here re what the second dr thought, whether there is a discharge still etc, how well she is etc. I think safest thing here if worsening or persisting pain would be urgent re-examination. Or if you're in the Waikato area you may be able to do a virtual consult to try and help sort out.

Ear infection: You can try giving paracetamol and brufen for pain and if that doesn't help then see a doctor . Dosage for paracetamol and brufen are based on child's weight . Regular pain relief should help the child.
