Seek advice: Different countries have different protocols but this is a tetanus prone injury and there is no known cure for tetanus and can be fatal even with modern intensive care. Best thing to alleviate your worry here is to check your vaccination record with your doctor. They'll be able to determine whether you're protected or need another tetanus shot, plus review your wound to check for infection.

Preventing tetanus: Well tetanus can arise from almost any wound, although most commonly those are the deep, penetrating wounds from stepping on a nail, not just a superficial scratch. That said however, you want to be updated on tetanus vaccine. Tetanus can actually be fatal in about 10 to 15% of cases. For a superficial scratch, hopefully you washed it out good so any tetanus spores were removed. Check vaccine out!
