Abscess?: An abscess can cause local swelling, hardness, and pain. It is sometimes accompanied by skin redness and/or fever, but not always. Please see a doctor in person for evaluation; if you have an abscess it may need to be drained (a simple office procedure), and/or require antibiotics. Good luck!
