Patello femoral: A common condition in women is inflammation under the kneecap (patella) - which can lead to extra fluid in the knee joint, and pain under the patella. I have had xrays on my left knee to see what is wrong with it due to it being swollen and hurting back in July. I was diagnosed with have patella in both knees. After physical therapy, my swelling went down - but now its back when I am moving a lot. It doesnt hurt but there is a lot of fluid on the knee and it seems to go away when I work out. Hey there, I went skiing yesterday and ended up skipping on ice and twisting my knee. There is no swelling or bruising. The pain is on the right side of my knee cap and hurts to extend. Not sure if its just a sprain or meniscus tear?
