Old blood: most likely from breakthrough bleeding due to hormonal fluctuations, thyroid issues, uterine issues , stress, tension, anxiety or simply aging. I suggest keeping a menstrual journal and monitoring your cycles over the next 3 months. If symptoms persist see your GYN and bring your journal.
