What did Pap show?: Did ur Pap cytology show SIL? - LSIL or HSIL? If so, given ur age, you need a Colposcopy, regardless of HPV result. However a high risk HPV subtype supports the cytology result of SIL. A colposcopy with biopsies / ECC will provide histologic samples for the pathologist to determine severity of cervical dysplasia. Please see clinician who is qualified to perform colposcopies to review ur results

60 year old. My husband & I of 40 years have never had any other sexual partners. My last pap smear showed positive HPV mRNA E6/E7. Negative genotypes 16, 18/45 &negative cytology. All Negative in 2021 as well. How is this possible? Next steps?
Is HPV testing more reliable for picking up the possibility of adenocarcinoma of the cervix? I know cytology for this type of cancer is less useful than squamous cell. So if I am HPV negative could I still have adenocarcinoma?

I attended my first cervical screening at age 25. They tested for HPV only which was negative. Because it was negative they did not look at cytology. Asked to come back in 5 years. Could they have missed cervical cancer by only testing HPV status?
I tested negative for the all high risk HPV strains. However there were insufficient cells in my pap to receive an adequate cytology result. Considering >90% of cervical cancers are caused by HPV, is a repap really necessary at age 24? Or can I wait?
