I regularly go to the gym, i experience pain in my forearm similar to "shin splits". is this normal and what would you recommend for treatment?

Decrease upper body: If the sensation is truly similar to "shin splints", it is most likely from over-exercising and overloading the musculature of the forearms. If you do heavy lifting, decrease your weight and reps, ice and antiinflammatories may be helpful as well.
