Probably won't help: Unfortunately, treating male partners has been tried with various antibiotics and found to have no effect on persistent or recurrent bacterial vaginosis. That's not to say it would not help. But which antibiotic(s) to try are unknown.

New medication: There are other agents that can treat BV besides Flagyl. Also, if you have an IUD or pessary or use a NuvaRing or similar, your risk for "stubborn" BV goes up considerably. You also need to completely rule out other vaginitis causes (STDs, yeast, hormonal/autoimmune disorders). Consider discussing with your doctor or seek a second opinion. Good luck!
