Sounds like: IBS C (Irritable bowel/constipation ) or "chronic constipation " There is SPECIFIC TREATMENT for this however testing may be necessary to make the diagnosis. In the meantime DRINK LOTS OF FLUIDS ("Dryness" of the Stool may be a factor!) Hope this helps Dr Z
