Get a diagnosis: need to get a dx first. does the pain radiate into the arm? numbness and tingling? MRI or X-ray to r/o infection or tumor and is none a cervical epidural can be offered (indication: neck pain with pain radiation into upper extremity. If no radicular pain, no epidural. Permanent damage usually follows constant neurological symptoms, numbers tingling weakness.
