Resume but slowly: Rib fractures often take a lot longer to heal than many think. Because our ribs move with just breathing alone, even limited activity without lifting can effect your pain level. However, it's vital to not just sit around without any activity--we must keep our lungs inflating well to prevent collapse and possible pneumonia. Anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen and slowly increasing activity is best.
