Different effect: If you were treated prior to or during pregnancy, baby would not get chlamydia. If you were infected, it remains in the lower tract & could contaminate a baby passing though the birth canal. When it does it can cause a pus laden eye infection within the first week or a life threatening pneumonia as early as 3-4 weeks of age.It does not infect their genitals. It is easily cured with antibiotics.
