Conjunctivitis : May be a cause however there are a number of other inflammatory conditions some can be sight threatening. Recommend see doctor for examination

Conjunctivitis: It sounds like you have conjunctivitis. It is very contagious so wash your hands after touching your eye and try not to touch the other one. You will need to see your doctor to get some antibiotic ointment.
