An upper endoscopy: is sometimes performed to evaluate delayed gastric emptying. Problems like obstruction, inflammation (erosive gastritis) or GERD/reflux may be seen along with no peristalsis/contractions of the stomach or even undigested food from the previous day. The gastritis would be treated to see if symptoms improve before more gastroparesis testing is done. Constipation shouldn't be a factor.Hope this helps
