Bacterial vaginosis?: It sounds like you were treated for bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria. Probably the antibiotic was metronidazole, and it sounds like you have had partial improvement. The odor may continue to improve over the next 1-2 weeks after completing treatment. If it doesn't or you remain concerned, return to the doctor treating you for reevaluation and perhaps different treatment
