A member asked:

How long does it take chlymadia or gonorrhea to show up on a vaginal swab? how does chlymadia or gonorrhea cause a "slightly abnormal" papsmear? or does it cause an abnormal papsmear?

7-10 days: Generally we expect the test to show up within 7-10 days of exposure but this can vary widely. Bacterial infections like this may cause inflammation on a pap smear. They do not cause precancerous changes on a pap smear. Clarify with your doctor what your test results show and what conclusions can be made based on your results.
