Confusing question: Women who have a rhesus negative blood type usually receive "rhogam" by injection once during pregnancy & after delivery.This injection helps prevent the mom from developing antibodies to a rhesus positive blood that could harm a rhesus positive baby. It is not given after birth if mom gives birth to a rhesus negative infant, ¬ used if mom has a rhesus positive blood type.
