I have swelling over the top of my ribs on my upper left quadrant. i felt a sharp pain when i was doing deadlifts yesterday. i am very concerned i may have injured my spleen. if i had injured my spleen would there be swelling above my ribs?

No: If you injured your spleen, unlikely, you won't have swelling above your ribs, and the sharp pain you felt can be very well be musculoskeletal (muscle, ligament or bone), rest the area, apply warm compresses, and take pain killers. See your doctor for further evaluation, best wishes
