Blood in knee: Bleeding into the knee joint can occur with trauma. In the absence of injury, spontaneous bleeding into the knee joint can occur with anticoagulant medications or with a bleeding disorder due to blood diseases where platelets are too low or liver disease, vitamin K deficiency. Blood in the knee joint tends to cause inflammation and pain.
