Vaginal pain: There is long list of possible causes of pelvic and vaginal pain. If the pain is severe and stabbing as you mention then prompt evaluation is warranted to rule out serious causes such as appendicitis.

Vaginal. Pain: Pcos is not a reason for vaginal discomfort irrespective of number of cysts vaginal pain is generally due to local disease if that has been excluded vaginismus can be psychosomatic.
