Lipoma? Mass? Hernia: If it is a one sided mass and especially fit is new, i would certainly recommend that you be evaluated. This may require diagnostic imaging and/or incisional/excisional biopsy to establish a definitive diagnosis. It may be an abnormally large ruben's fat pad, lipoma, hernia, etc.

A member asked:
How does pyelonephritis affect the renal pelvis?
2 doctor answers • 3 doctors weighed in

Dr. Robert Kwok answered
Pediatrics 33 years experience
Bad effects on it: Acute pyelonephritis is an infection of the renal pelvis (collecting system) and the kidney as a whole. There can be kidney abscesses (suppurative necrosis), containing pus material. Kidney tubules are damaged by the infectious process, and may have "casts" of white blood cells and exudate. In the early stages, kidney glomeruli are not affected, but can get damaged if the infection continues.
