Neuralgia: Sharp, fleeting pains in the head area are characteristic of neuralgia which is an irritability of a superficial nerve in the scalp. This is more of a nuisance rather than anything serious and has nothing to do with brain problems. Neuralgia usually resolves on its own. Sometimes Tylenol or Advil helps. Consult your physician if symptoms persist or worsen.
