A member asked:

Does high wbcs in vaginal discharge always indicate infection?my wet mount result showed wbcs:+++.my discharge is sometimes yellow, slight odor,no itch

WBC indicate inflammation as well as infection. A wet prep should not be the only test done to evaluate vaginal discharge. Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and Trichomoniasis testing should be done. Typically yeast and bacterial vaginosis testing are also done
