A member asked:

My question is this: i got back a pap result of asc-h. the nurse said the pap could have been "over-read." does this happen often? does this result me

Get follow-up: The lab saw one or more cells that they cannot say are not an aggressive precancerous lesion. You are going to need a biopsy if you care whether you live or die. It may be a false alarm (I hope it is), but the term "overread" implies lab error or lack of skill by the pathologist. I am glad you are proactive and you may enjoy reading up on this interesting topic.
