Opiates gone 2-4 day: Depending on whether you have been on quick release vs extended release opiates, your blood test would be negative in 12-48 hours, and urine by 3-6 days. Analysis of hair will be positive for months. In baby=sure: If I had any reason to look, like the baby showing signs of withdrawal or if you are on the Child & Family Services watch list,I can find evidence of any drug exposure in a newborn going back several months. If they are valid prescribed meds be sure the docs know.Opiates have less long term effect on baby's formation & development than many other drugs.
