One would have to: assume that this has something to do with your sleeping position. My guess is you sleep in one position (on your back?) most of the time, and, due to inactivity, certain tendons/ligaments/muscles have stiffened up a bit and need to stretch out once you arise in the morning. You might try to change positions more while sleeping (this is difficult!) or incorporate stretching in your rising routine:)
