Probably not: As in my other reply, I doubt BV explains your symptoms. As I also said there, OK to try metronidazole (Flagyl), but I'm not optimistic it will help. Treating male partners of women with BV does not prevent persistent or recurrent BV. BV isn't apparently an STD in the usual sense, but consistent condom use for several weeks may help. OTOH your asymptomatic BV probably isn't the main problem.
