A member asked:

Ive recently been on antibiotics for bv. (cleo in, flagyl) results finally are negative for bv but no lactobacillus detected could i still have bv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"BV" ?'s: Bacterial vaginosis is generally cleared by Cleocin and metronimidazole treatment. The absence of detection of lactobacillus does not mean "BV" is still present. Absence of a typical vaginal odor is a better gauge of the success of treatment.
