Pretty accurate: Although there are obviously size limits of what can be seen, it is very good for seeing nodules which can be lung cancer. If that is suspected, it is a good test to do. Good luck.

CT Chest: has a high sensitivity for detecting lung cancer, approximately 95%, so CT will detect the vast majority of lung cancers.

Depending: on the technical factors of the scan, highly sensitive for detecting lung cancer, less so so for esophageal cancers. Small esophageal cancers may be undetectable on CT, endoscopy is the best way to evaluate for that possibility(also biopsy can be performed at the time of endoscopy).

Ct scan: Ct scan will tell you about the anatomy. So, you may see a mass on the lung -ct will tell you the size, the location, proximity to adjacent organ-vasculature etc, and perhaps also lymph nodes enlargement on the chest area. Pleural effusion can also be seen. It also can show you bone lesions, liver masses, adrenal mass-that may be related to the lung mass/spread from the lung mass. Etc.

Possible: Not from one, but from many. Cts dose you with radiation. The more you have the higher the risk of getting cancer. Most common are immune cancers such as lymphoma and leukemia.

CT scan: In general CT scan of the chest is the best test for diagnosis of lung Cancer. A PET/CT scan is sometimes preferred as it gives more useful information about stage of Lung Cancer. In my view MRI is a poor test to examine the Lungs for lung Cancer or for metastatic cancer in the lungs.
