Sometimes the baby: is too big to go through the birth canal. Sometimes the baby has stopped moving through the birth canal. If a Cesarean section was done for a previous pregnancy, surgery might be needed again. If the mother or baby are in severe distress than an emergency Cesarean section may be required. In most healthy pregnancy with one baby - surgical intervention is not necessary.
