What would be the possible causes of pain in right armpit area shooting down arm causing hand to go numb?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Arm pain: A couple options exist. The most obvious is pinched nerve in the neck. If pain/numbness goes to thumb, then c5-6 likely. If the pinky and ring fingers, then c7-t1. This latter level would also account for numbness in armpit. The other option would be cubital tunnel. But this would only cause symptoms from the elbow down to the ring/pinky fingers, worse with bent elbow. Brachial plexus probs rare.
