Scalloping tongue: Scalloping tongue also known as crenated tongue results from tongue pressing against the teeth. It is not a disease. Crenated tongue is usually asymptomatic and harmless. It may also be seen with bruxism (grinding of teeth). No connection to STDs or STIs.

If for months to years with no change in color and extent, it is likely harmless and deserve a just watch and see since in fact it results from compression of tongue against the adjacent teeth; hence, it is not a disease.
