both me and my partner have been treated for gonorrhea twice in the past month. i am concerned that the treatment doesn't work. how can i be sure. ?

Re-testing +: The most important criteria for effective gonorrhea treatment is for both partners to take their medication at the same time and sequence as well as avoiding sexual contact until re-testing in the form of a gonorrhea culture shows that both parties are negative. There are resistant strains of G.C. brought back from Vietnam by our soldiers that may require a antibiotic change by MD.

Length of Rx: It depends on the length of the antibiotic rx that is given and whether it is completed properly. Most rx's take one to two weeks of rx.
