Sort of...: Being bipolar involves periods of depression and periods of mania. There can be all manner of strange behavior or reactions, and paranoia, unfortunately, makes sense. It's not normal clearly, and i'd contact her psychiatrist immediately to make sure they don't want to see you right away. Such a change may also confirm the diagnosis, or suggest something else. Please check into this asap.

Confirm diagnosis: Feature of paranoia in individuals diagnosed with bipolar disorder is commonly encountered in clinical practice. Other conditions which may have overlap symptoms with bipolar disorder include schizophrenia. It is not uncommon to see a person diagnosed with bipolar and later on receive a different diagnosis. A pediatric psychiatrist should be consulted.
