Probably a stye: Difficult to say for sure, especially without a photo, but it sounds like a stye. It occurs when one of the oil glands in your eyelid gets clogged and infected. You should apply warm heat to the eyes at least twice a day with gentle massaging downwards to help the blockage open and drain. Antibiotic/steroid combo drops help too but you'll need to see a eye doctor for the prescription.
