Take as prescribed: Important to take birth control pills as prescribed- take the pills containing medication first to be followed by placebo pills. No benefit in taking placebo pills first.

Birth Control Pills: The placebo pills are designed to withdraw you from the estrogen in the active pills thus starting your period. Therefore, you need to be on active pills first for the placebo pills to have any effect on your period.
