Narcolepsy: I am not a neurologist. But my patients with narcolepsy all received a polysomnogram & multiple sleep latency test. I think it is important to insure that you don't just have excessive daytime sleepiness.

Yes: The diagnostic criteria for narcolepsy takes into account the sleep study (polysomnogram) and the MSLT. Prior to having a therapeutic plan developed, these tests are needed.
