Maybe OK, but...: Some infections are treated simultaneously with two or more antibiotics. Amoxicillin and metronidazole are not a common combination, but not too unusual. However, if you were already taking one drug for one infection, and the doctor treating the second was unaware of the first, you should call either or both doctors and clarify whether to take both.
