Probably normal: A fracture takes a split second to happen but they never heal that fast it takes many weeks and months to go to full healing so what you are experiencing is par for the course/ use a hot pack and either or both tylenol (acetaminophen) and/or ibuprofen if it gets worse go back and see your doctor.

Repeat CXR: Healing of rib fractures takes a long time, sometimes 6-8 weeks, 3 weeks is early to see healing. So make sure you do not have an underlying issue or a missed fracture it will be wise to repeat a chest x ray.
