Unlikely: Novocaine really hasn't been in widespread use in dentistry since the 1960s although the term is often used by the public to generically refer to any local anesthetic. It fell out of favor because other formulations work as well or better with fewer side effects. Please ask your dentist what type of local they are using and let us know so we can give you a more meaningful answer.
